Is a 2018 outreach mission offered by Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum, Idaho
In the spring of 2012 a little boy named Rhett went home to be with Jesus at the age of five. We, at Shepherd of the Hills, want to take his memory and the lessons he taught us from the way he lived to make an impact on the lives of others. With God’s guidance and blessing, using Rhett’s life as our guide and inspiration, we want his memory to live on through helping others, especially children.
Starting in January 2018, Rhett’s Closet, here at Shepherd of the Hills will provide gently worn clothing for infants through pre-teens at no cost to families in need of help in the Rathdrum community. Please contact Diana (208-964-0325) if you have gently worn clothing to donate or know of a family that could use our help.
Galations 5:22-23 teaches us about the fruits of the spirit, those being love, peace, faithfulness, goodness, kindness, gentleness, patience, self-control. Even though very young, Rhett demonstrated many of these spiritual fruits in the way he lived his life. Rhett loved sports, especially soccer and swimming; he loved to make people laugh; he loved to share; he loved to be creative; he loved music; he loved to dance; he loved making crafts and helping with cooking and baking; he loved hearing stories read to him from the Action Bible; he loved to help wherever and whenever he could.
Rhett’s life inspires us to share the following verses with you:
“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.” ~~Philippians 2:1-2
